Drawing with Osmo and Coding with Awbie

This playful coding app is one of the components of our new iLab at Mark Twain Elementary in Lynwood. After trying it out we can see that it is great for non-readers but younger students will need an older assistant to help them through. If they are new to coding concepts plan for some time too get familiar. Also, I think it will help if the younger students have some coaching as to how to have tenacity and some grit in figuring some things out. And, it's okay to ask for help.

This app and the kit that come with it are like magic. How innovative to take something as old fashioned as a whiteboard, markers and drawing and combine it with multimedia and a charming cartoon character to teach drawing!  This will stretch young children from first to third grade and be somewhat engaging for older students.
