Hangouts steps

We practiced creating a calendar event and following through with settings. I noticed that I missed a couple of steps. The Hangouts call will not start automatically. I didn't check "Hangouts Meet" under the videoconferencing option.
Also, when the call is started, I needed to go to hangouts tab on my Chrome browser and select "join."

Use headphones or select "mute" if you are in same room with the other end of the call.
